As part of the Road to the International Battery Summit (IBS) 2025, the summit is honored to welcome H.E. Belmore Jose Malate, Ambassador Extraordinary of the Republic of Mozambique to Indonesia and Dean of the African Ambassadors Group in Jakarta, as one of its distinguished attendees on 17 June 2025.
Representing a diplomatic bloc of 17 African nations, Ambassador Malate’s participation highlights the growing importance of Indonesia Africa cooperation in advancing sustainable battery technologies, critical mineral development, and green energy partnerships. His presence at IBS 2025 reflects the increasing global interest in fostering cross-regional collaboration to support the energy transition and build resilient, sustainable industrial ecosystems.
The engagement is expected to further strengthen bilateral and multilateral dialogue between Indonesia and African countries, particularly in areas related to critical mineral value chains, renewable energy innovation, battery manufacturing, and investment opportunities. As both Indonesia and several African nations possess abundant strategic mineral resources, there is significant potential for collaboration in promoting responsible resource management, value-added industrialization, and sustainable economic development.
The participation of Ambassador Malate also reinforces IBS 2025’s role as a premier international platform for bringing together policymakers, diplomats, industry leaders, researchers, and investors to discuss the future of battery technology and clean energy solutions. Through strategic partnerships and knowledge exchange, the summit aims to accelerate innovation and create new opportunities for cooperation across emerging economies.
As the Road to IBS 2025 continues, the involvement of the Ambassador of Mozambique and the African Ambassadors Group marks another important milestone in expanding the summit’s international outreach and strengthening Indonesia’s engagement with the African continent. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to advancing sustainable development, fostering inclusive growth, and shaping a greener and more interconnected global battery ecosystem.
