As part of the Road to the International Battery Summit (IBS) 2026, the National Battery Research Institute (NBRI) held a courtesy meeting with H.E. Ta Van Thong, Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to Indonesia, to strengthen regional cooperation and promote greater collaboration within the ASEAN battery and clean energy ecosystem.
The meeting served as an opportunity to discuss the growing importance of Indonesia–Vietnam partnerships in advancing battery technology, critical mineral development, electric mobility, and the broader energy transition agenda. With both countries playing increasingly strategic roles in Southeast Asia’s battery supply chain, the dialogue emphasized the value of closer cooperation in research, industrial development, investment, and knowledge exchange.
During the meeting, NBRI officially extended an invitation to the Embassy of Vietnam and the Vietnamese delegation to participate in the International Battery Summit (IBS) 2026, to be held on 26–28 August 2026 at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta. The summit will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, researchers, investors, and international partners to foster collaboration and explore innovative solutions for the future of sustainable battery development.
The discussion also highlighted the shared vision of Indonesia and Vietnam in accelerating clean energy adoption, strengthening regional supply chains, and enhancing ASEAN’s competitiveness in the global battery industry. Through stronger regional partnerships, both nations have significant opportunities to contribute to a more resilient, innovative, and sustainable battery ecosystem.
As the Road to IBS 2026 continues, this strategic engagement marks another important milestone in reinforcing ASEAN cooperation and expanding international participation in IBS 2026. NBRI remains committed to building meaningful partnerships that support innovation, sustainable industrial growth, and the global transition toward clean energy.
