JAKARTA, July 3, 2025 – As part of the Road to the International Battery Summit (IBS) 2025, the Indonesian Electric Motorcycle Industry Association (AISMOLI), in collaboration with the National Battery Research Institute (NBRI), successfully organized a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) at Sea Grain Restaurant, DoubleTree by Hilton Jakarta. The forum brought together key stakeholders to discuss the growing urgency of battery testing and safety standards for electric vehicles, particularly electric motorcycles, in support of user safety and regulatory readiness.
The discussion highlighted the importance of establishing comprehensive battery testing frameworks and harmonized standards to ensure the reliability, safety, and long-term sustainability of Indonesia’s rapidly expanding electric mobility sector. As electric motorcycle adoption continues to accelerate, participants emphasized the need for robust regulations and technical standards that can effectively protect consumers while encouraging innovation and industry growth.
The event was attended by representatives from several key government institutions, including the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin), the National Standardization Agency (BSN), the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), and the Ministry of Transportation. Their participation demonstrated a strong national commitment to strengthening Indonesia’s regulatory framework and supporting the development of a safe, competitive, and sustainable electric vehicle ecosystem.
Throughout the discussions, participants underscored the importance of multi-stakeholder collaboration among government agencies, industry associations, research institutions, and private-sector actors in accelerating the implementation of battery safety standards and creating an enabling environment for electric vehicle innovation. The forum also served as a platform to exchange insights and identify strategic pathways for enhancing testing capabilities, standardization processes, and regulatory coordination.
As part of the Road to IBS 2025, this initiative reflects a collective effort to advance battery safety, strengthen regulatory preparedness, and support Indonesia’s transition toward cleaner and more sustainable mobility solutions. The outcomes of the discussion are expected to contribute to the broader agenda of the International Battery Summit (IBS) 2025, where battery technology, safety standards, and electric mobility development will remain at the center of global discussions on the future of the clean energy ecosystem.
