JAKARTA, July 7, 2025 – As part of the Road to the International Battery Summit (IBS) 2025, a strategic coordination meeting was held with the Downstream Task Force of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) to discuss key preparations and collaborative initiatives leading up to the upcoming summit.
The meeting brought together representatives from the Ministry’s Downstream Task Force, the Indonesia Battery Ecosystem Association (IdBattery), and the National Battery Research Institute (NBRI), reflecting strong multi-stakeholder commitment to ensuring the success of IBS 2025 as a premier international platform for battery innovation, critical minerals, and sustainable energy development.
The discussion focused on aligning the summit’s objectives with Indonesia’s national downstreaming agenda and strengthening collaboration among government institutions, industry associations, and strategic partners. Key topics included preparations for the summit program, support for industrial downstreaming initiatives, the development of the electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem, and opportunities to foster international partnerships and investment in the battery sector.
The participation of the Chairperson of IdBattery, together with board members and industry representatives, further underscored the growing support from the private sector and the importance of collective action in advancing Indonesia’s battery industry. The meeting highlighted the need for stronger synergy between policymakers, industry leaders, researchers, and investors to accelerate innovation, promote sustainable industrial practices, and enhance Indonesia’s competitiveness in the global battery value chain.
