As part of the Road to the International Battery Summit (IBS) 2025, the National Battery Research Institute (NBRI) is pleased to announce the successful conclusion of a strategic meeting with Mr. Dadan Kusdiana, Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM). The discussion demonstrated strong alignment and a shared commitment to advancing Indonesia’s clean energy agenda and strengthening the country’s battery ecosystem.
The meeting marked an important milestone as the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) signaled its support to serve as a Co-Host of the International Battery Summit (IBS) 2025, further reinforcing the summit’s strategic importance as a national and international platform for dialogue, innovation, and collaboration in the battery and clean energy sectors.
The prospective partnership reflects a common vision of accelerating Indonesia’s energy transition, promoting battery innovation, and positioning the country as a leading player in the global battery and critical minerals value chain. Through this collaboration, IBS 2025 is expected to facilitate stronger engagement among government institutions, industry leaders, researchers, investors, and international stakeholders in addressing key challenges and opportunities within the rapidly evolving energy landscape.
The involvement of the Ministry of ESDM would also significantly enhance the institutional credibility and impact of IBS 2025, strengthening its role as a catalyst for investment, technological advancement, and sustainable industrial development. By bringing together diverse stakeholders, the summit aims to support the development of resilient battery supply chains, encourage the adoption of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles, and accelerate the growth of Indonesia’s electric vehicle and renewable energy ecosystems.
As the Road to IBS 2025 continues, this strategic alignment between NBRI and the Ministry of ESDM represents another major step toward building a collaborative and globally connected battery ecosystem. It also reaffirms Indonesia’s commitment to leading the regional and global transition toward a cleaner, more sustainable, and innovation-driven energy future.
