As part of the Road to the International Battery Summit (IBS) 2026, the National Battery Research Institute (NBRI) paid an official courtesy visit to Dr. Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development of the Republic of Indonesia, to strengthen collaboration in supporting the development of Indonesia’s battery and sustainable infrastructure ecosystem.
The meeting served as an important platform to discuss the strategic role of battery technologies in Indonesia’s long-term development agenda, particularly in accelerating decarbonization, expanding electric vehicle (EV) adoption, and building an integrated battery industry that delivers greater value-added, creates quality employment opportunities, and enhances national energy resilience.
Both parties also exchanged views on the importance of developing supporting infrastructure, fostering innovation, and strengthening cross-sector collaboration to ensure the successful implementation of Indonesia’s energy transition roadmap. The discussion highlighted the need for close cooperation between government, industry, academia, and research institutions to accelerate sustainable industrial development and reinforce Indonesia’s competitiveness in the global battery value chain.
During the visit, NBRI officially extended an invitation to Minister AHY to participate in the International Battery Summit (IBS) 2026, which will be held at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta. As one of Asia’s leading battery and clean energy forums, IBS 2026 will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, researchers, investors, and international organizations to discuss the latest developments in battery technology, critical minerals, energy storage, electric mobility, and sustainable industrial transformation.
As the Road to IBS 2026 continues, this strategic engagement reflects NBRI’s commitment to strengthening national partnerships and fostering multi-stakeholder collaboration to support Indonesia’s vision of becoming a global hub for battery innovation, clean energy, and sustainable infrastructure development.
