As part of the Road to the International Battery Summit (IBS) 2025, Prof. Evvy Kartini, Founder of the National Battery Research Institute (NBRI), delivered a keynote address during the Indonesia Critical Mineral Strategic Meeting & Market (SMM) – CRM Dialogue, a high-level forum attended by representatives from 17 developing countries to discuss the future of critical raw materials and sustainable energy collaboration.
The event was officially opened by Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, Chairman of Indonesia’s National Economic Council, and chaired by Arif Havas Oegroseno, Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia. The dialogue served as an important platform for strengthening international cooperation in securing critical mineral supply chains, promoting sustainable industrial development, and accelerating the global energy transition.
In her keynote presentation, Prof. Evvy Kartini highlighted the strategic role of critical raw materials in supporting the rapidly growing battery and electric vehicle industries, emphasizing the importance of innovation, responsible resource management, and cross-border collaboration in building resilient and sustainable energy ecosystems.
The CRM Dialogue also generated significant interest in the upcoming International Battery Summit (IBS) 2025, with delegates from participating countries expressing their willingness to contribute and engage in the summit through strategic partnerships, knowledge exchange, and investment opportunities. Furthermore, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia reaffirmed its commitment to endorsing IBS 2025 as a key follow-up initiative from the CRM Dialogue, further strengthening Indonesia’s position as a leading convener in global discussions on critical minerals, battery technology, and clean energy transformation.
As the Road to IBS 2025 continues, NBRI remains committed to fostering international dialogue and multi-stakeholder collaboration to advance sustainable solutions in critical minerals and energy transition. The strong support demonstrated during the CRM Dialogue underscores the growing global momentum behind IBS 2025 and reinforces Indonesia’s leadership in shaping a resilient, inclusive, and sustainable battery ecosystem for the future.
